CULTURAL ARTS WORKSHOP BUILDING
Urban development and rehabilitation begin with the idea of providing the community with a space for recreation and education, which promotes cultural and social development. This building was conceived to be part of that effort.
The Culture Arts Workshop building in Alajuelita is a two-level building that has laboratories, galleries, classrooms and workshops at the service of the community. The building is approximately 900m2, and is part of a community development master plan that includes public space and community equipment. As part of the services provided, we carry out the design of the power and lighting system, design of the drinking system, design of wastewater and design of the rain system.
The building includes a design for collecting rainwater for reuse in the toilets and irrigation of green areas. The building was also designed to be highly efficient and environmentally friendly, following the requirements of the Costa Rican government to be carbon neutral by 2021, so, apart from the rainwater collection, a solar panel system was placed that can supply the building with energy between 50% and 80%.
